Shelley and Ethan obviously put a great deal of time and energy into not only riding and thinking about bicycles, but also examining their relationship to them. With warmth, charm, and knowledge to spare, Chainbreaker gives the joy of bicycle maintenance back to who it belongs: The People. One of the most inspiring, dedicated projects in the world of independent publishing. -Golnar Nikpour, MAXIMUMROCKNROLL

I’ve read a handful of bike repair manuals, but they all seem to assume that you are mechanically-inclined and that you have a very sweet mountain or road bike. For those of us with somewhat less impressive bikes and who have a singular inability to re-assemble anything, this book is a godsend. The book is informative, truly informative, for just those kinds of readers. Where some books’ explanation leave me scratching my head, this book was full of “aha!” moments. Finally, I think I actually have a bit of an understanding of how my bike works.
And, on top of that, it’s a fun read as well! The previous reviewer compared it to Pirsig’s “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance,” which is exactly the comparison on my mind as I read the book. I enjoyed reading this book, which makes it different from other repair books I’ve read (bike, car, and home stuff). Jackson and Clark have placed a bit of their souls into this book, breathing life into what could have been “just another step-by-step guide.”
This book is for people who have a bike they need to maintain, but up to this point in their life they haven’t had a clue as to how.
It’s not often that a guy with a daily schedule like mine drops everything to write a book review. But this simple little book on bike repair was one of those wonderful finds we come across every so often. Jackson & Clark have put together more than just a basic nuts and bolts tome of fixing a simple bike, they’ve infused their book with a way of being with a bicycle. Of having a bike as a peaceful and calming element in one’s life. It’s a wonderful cross between Robert M. Pirsig’s “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” and John Muir’s “How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive”.
Written for real folks in a personal, almost conversation way, the book has a series of fun and ecclectic hand drawn illustrations which provide a great visual reference of basic bicycle parts. The simple drawings show parts very clearly labeled and easy to understand. Upon reading through the various maintenance and repair procedures presented, numerous times I found myself thinking “Oh yeah, ok…”.
An added feature is a section of the book which reprints original “Chainbreaker” pages – a bicycle ‘zine once laid out and produced by hand by the authors prior to the writing of this book.
This is not a book for 20+ mile daily roadracers and their carbon fiber, stealth-like machines. But then again, it does not try to be. Rather it is a great read for any weekend biking enthusiast or a first time bicycle owner. It’s a great little handy book to have and worth every dime for it’s insightful way of looking at the simple elegance of a bicycle.
I enjoyed reading this book. Pretty good for learning basic bicycle mechanics. A heart-warming story. Nice cartoons … a little short on illustrative photos. Plain talk is fine, but due to F-Words, talk of naked women, strippers, and lesbianism … I will not give this book to my grandchildren to learn how to fix their bicycles.

Was watching the bicycle race in Adelaide on TV and wanted to see what the race area was like and found that plane scene. Bet there's more.
O_o RT My va jay jay is broken… This damn bicycle the gym broke it… Oooowwwwww
the most important thing is to keep the oil changed every 3000 miles, have all fluid levels checked at least 1 time a month, proper tire air pressure, a tune up every year or so depending on the miles you drive, transmission flush 70,000 miles, coolant flush every two years, keep a good wax on the painted surface, have the belt checked every 6 months for dry cracks, find a good service shop that has a good record. beware of those speedy oil change shops. You can buy a manual (haynes) at most auto parts stores for about 20.00 for your car that has a maintenance section in it, a good investment! good luck, hope this helped you.
What is your take on this Anne?
Well, you're in for some surprises. The one being, Soviet prices were artificial. Meaning, we have no idea what the prices for anything were.
However, there are SOME techniques to GUESS at these prices, but they are far from reliable.
The CIA needed to estimate the amount of Soviet military expenditure. They calculated that half (50%) of the Soviet Unions GDP was directed towards the military. Where as the Soviet calculations had only 5% of their GDP going towards the military.
My response to this question is that I too would like to see what RELIABLE sources people have to give.
Charlie Hall is awesome!!!!!!!!!
Ah, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. One of my favorites. Be one with the machine. And care.

Not necessary, in most cases. The publisher will often give the designer a description of what is required and a good designer, often needs no more than that.
In some cases, the designer or illustrator is given a short excerpt from the story or piece.
In many cases, the designs can be quite generic in nature, and still fit the book quite well. A set of specs that include:
A WWII era, German Luger, Nazi Iron Cross, image of the US White house. These items could serve for any of dozens of WWII spy novels.
Garden, white picket fence, ivied arbor, 18th century ships at anchor. These props could illustrate hundereds of romance novels.
Gigantic space vessels, starry skies, strange planetary surface. Pick any of hundreds of science fiction books and these objects could serve as a cover.

Yeah, It’s a roller coaster untill the boat cap sizes
when somebody says aftermarket it usually just means that there are some aftermarket parts on the bike, it doesn't mean the entire bike is aftermarket. unless its a bike i have never heard of. but i wouldn't get one if its all aftermarket because thats not a honda, its something else, somebody is probably trying to get money out of you. but it might have some after market parts and those are just parts that you can buy and put on the bike yourself and they are cheaper. but buy a real honda and do your own modifications, don't risk the aftermarket one.
I have spent the last year and a half refining my approach into a simple, step-by-step program to help others build success from the inside out. This program takes you through a sequence of seven life transforming steps. It begins by helping you discover who you really are on the inside, and progresses toward creating the life you truly desire. Uniquely, these steps are structured in a way that never fosters internal conflict or cross-purposes. Internal harmony is always maintained. Released 11/7/08: “7 Simple Steps – Life Transformation Guide” is a practical, easy to follow and simple to implement program for increased self-awareness and personal achievement.
$200 bucks so that the 2000+lbs car going approximately 30mph over the speed limit can see you better and avoid greasing you? I'ld say it's a good buy.

Mark McGwire said he’s saddened his estranged brother wrote a book that chronicles their use of performance-enhancing drugs and reiterated his claim that he only took them to heal from injuries. McGwire said Thursday he’s so up set with his brother, Jay McGwire, that he doesn’t believe reconciliation is possible.

thank you.
Get a copy of "The New Breed" by Gary Chester and make that book your bible.
It uses a revolutionary system that will elevate your playing to the next level. You should be able to find this book at any music store or online at amazon.com or musiciansfriend.com
At first, this book seems to have little practical use, but it will build your independence, reading, grooving, timekeeping and concentration skills like no other book on the market.
Get this book before anything else, but I have a couple of other books you may want to check out.
"Future Sounds" by David Garibaldi. This book is a method for playing linear funk in styles of Tower of Power and some Herbie Hancock songs. Of you have no interest in funk music, then pass this one up…otherwise, it's a very smart buy. It also includes a CD of many of the grooves and exercises in the book.
"Advanced Funk Studies" by Rick Latham. This is a book on straight ahead funk with some linear elements. It's a good introduction to funk music.
"Creative Coordination for the Performing Drummer" by Keith Copeland. This book has grooves in various styles such as funk, rock, R&B, bossa nova, jazz, samba, etc. By learning how to groove in these styles, you will become a more versatile drummer.
"A Funky Primer" by Charles Dowd. This one will probably begin below your level, but will be above your level well before the end of the book. This is a good book for straight ahead eighth note based rock music. The entire book has eighth notes on hi-hat. It starts with eighths on snare and bass before going to slightly more intricate eight and sixteenth note patterns. By the end of the book it'll have you playing sixteenth note triplet patterns on the bass and snare drum. If you want to develop quick doubles on the bass drum, this is the book to get.
That should be enough to keep you busy for quite some time. You also may want to look into taking private lessons from a qualified instructor. That way you'll have a more experienced person who can guide you along based on your strengths, weaknesses and your own personal interests.
Good luck, and happy drumming!
thank
