You should bring your horse's saddle to a tack shop, and have them fit a saddle pad to it directly. That way you can't go wrong.

You don't want to put your Nimh Battery in an eva foam bag. They will get hotter. Heat shortens the life of these batteries.
Any bag that will let the air circulate (and not melt),would be good. An aluminium box would be better it acts like a heat sink.( if the batteries are in good thermal contact)
If your batteries are getting really hot you might want to consider backing off on the throttle.
If the saddle is fully padded (including the tree) probably a 2 inch bar. If the tree is not padded, measure the gap and make your bar about a half inch smaller.
Mavic makes some very nice track wheels.
Since your plan is to do light riding, I would suggest a western saddle. There are different seat sizes, so you will want to sit in saddles to find out what your comfortable with. English riding is a bit more fancy, generally people who ride english are serious about riding, and more than likely show. Also, an english saddle is less between you and the horse, so you can really feel their movements; you would need to be an advanced rider to know what I mean by feel… you can predict when the horse will do something purely by body language and feel. You'll also need someone to lunge your horse, and make sure your horse won't spook. You could do some vaulting manouvers, but not very many. Your english saddle would probably work better, but you should get a surcingle (its like a plastic sort of saddle) if you are serious about vaulting. You will have to buy one though.
