@oldCAguy According to his friend yes, i saw that. It’s very rare that i take a cop’s side, but you have to admit that saying “I’m doing the world a favour” makes the cyclist look like an enormous douchebag. So does filming this whole whine fest. I don’t know about NYC but where i love, cyclists are careless and unlicensed and cause a lot of danger on the road. Just my 2 cents is all.

I ride bikes in a city that has no bike lanes and manage to hold on to my temper when im stopped. Also on a bike you are no longer a pedestrian
this reminds me of the guy that walked on top of a parked car that was on the side walk was sued by driver, counter sued and won…

@ProperSauce he could have just contested the ticket like any normal person can do when they think something is unfair – which this obviously was, i’m not arguing with that. by the way, just because this has got a lot of attention doesn’t mean it’s the right way to prove a point and damaging other peoples property isn’t actually how progress is made, but by the tone of your comment i guess you believe that everyone is wrong if their opinion is different to yours right?
Dude will never get his money back. But that’s beside the point. The fact that this video has gone viral, change will ensue from copycats. Only 2 options are possible for the city, crack down on people parked in bike paths or make an public apology.

@M3J8NN why is it that everyone assumes that people who ride their bikes don’t own a car or drive, and that people that drive dont own (or more likely) don’t ride their bike…. what a load of naive bullshit. I do both, and frankly the use of a bicycle has no direct negative effect on the environment unlike cars, so lets not have this crap please.
