The wheel size is 700c X 37mm so it is wider than a road tire as a road tire is 700x 23 or 25mm wide
It says on the specs the tires are 700 x 37 Looks like a nice bike for the money. Make sure you get the correct size.

The wheels are actually bigger in diameter than on an MTB, 700mm rather than 26″ (metric imperial mix). MTB wheels are wider than hybrids or road bikes to take chunkier tyres for off-road grip.
According to Evans’ site (link below) the tyres are 700×37 which is wider than road bike tyres which are typically 700×23, but not as wide as MTB tyres which are around 26×2.1″.
It looks like a decent bike and should perform well on the streets and on light off-road tracks etc. Just wonder if you need the costs and weight of front forks though, if not there are some good rigid-fork hybrids for the same price or less.
